The Trust has one of the largest estates and facilities teams within the NHS.

With over 2,500 staff working across our sites, providing a range of facilities management services and ensuring our buildings and environments are fit for purpose, clean and safe.

Whether they're cleaning wards, maintaining our grounds and buildings, monitoring our environmental impact, caring for staff children, delivering hot meals to patients or providing medical equipment and PPE, they play a vital role in keeping our services running.

Facilities Operational Manager

We are currently recruiting for two Facilities Operational Managers.

Role 1 - predominantly covering Portering

Role 2 - predominantly covering Cleaning and Patient Catering

A Facilities Operational Manager typically has responsibility for a designated hospital block or site.

The role combines strategic planning with the reactive response to daily operational challenges, covering patient catering, food safety, infection control, cleaning and portering services and customer service.

If you have strong people skills and a passion for improving patient experience, with extensive experience managing healthcare facilities-related service, then this role could be your ideal next step.

Facilities Supervisor - Patient Environment

Our Facilities team provide a professional in-house specialist cleaning service and meal service for our patients. Facilities Supervisors are a vital part of the hospital team, ensuring the smooth running of our domestic and catering service so that our patients' stay is as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Our Facilities Supervisors are responsible for supervising a team of Ward Housekeepers and cleaning staff and maintaining high levels of hospital cleanliness. As a Supervisor you will:

  • carry out routine cleanliness, environmental, waste disposal and food safety audits.
  • Prioritise cleaning requests, undertake risk and COSHH assessments.
  • Manage staff communication, appraisals, training/development, performance and absence.
  • Ensure staff rotas are robust and provide the required cover for all areas
  • Providing advice and support to ensure the services we provide meet the needs of patients, visitors and staff.

If you are customer focussed, have strong organisational skills and experience of working in cleaning or catering services, our Facilities Supervisor post may be right for you.

Technical Business Intelligence Manager

The Estates and Facilities Technical Development team manages non-clinical systems that support areas such as building maintenance, security, portering and catering services.

They seek a knowledgeable and experienced Technical Business Intelligence Manager to establish and grow a developing business intelligence platform, which will streamline, automate and grow the reporting capability within Estates & Facilities.

The right candidate will need to be flexible and friendly, act as a role model to all staff and be prepared to join a hard-working, busy, and sociable team.

Quality Assurance Officer

Do you have an eye for detail and the passion and dedication to help managers improve the standards we offer to patients? Can you help to ensure that the Trust gets the best value for money for the services we buy?

The Quality Assurance team are seeking an exceptional individual to work as a Quality Assurance Officer for Estates & Facilities. You will be auditing cleaning standards in patient areas, food safety and service standards in retail catering units as well as other areas as diverse as window cleaning, entrance mats and other contracts.
