Finlay Langlands

Reservist - Trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioner

Fin is a Trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioner and he has worked at the Trust for 2 years.

Fin said:__My day to day role at LTHT is working cross site within the busy Emergency Departments assessing, treating and admitting or discharging patients that attend ED.

__My favourite thing about the Trust is the drive for improvement and use of best evidence practice. There is a drive for research and improvement for health care with patients' best interest being at the forefront of this.”

Outside of work Fin is a Reservist.

He adds “I have been a Reservist for 3.5 years now and have been commissioned to the rank of Captain within the British Army Reserves. My main drive to join the Reserves was to take up a new challenge that would be of benefit to my civilian career and be fun.

I would highly recommend the Reserves to anyone that is interested in joining. It's great fun you can put as much or as little time into it as you can spare.

I have travelled to the USA, France and Holland on exercise and there are many great opportunities to travel and take part in interesting activities, sometimes with people from different nations.

I have made loads of good friends, learned lots both about the military, clinically and about myself and what I am capable of.”
